The Maspeth High School Counseling Department's mission is to assist each student in recognizing and reaching their academic, social and emotional potential. Counselors collaborate with all members of the school community to provide comprehensive support services with the goal of positively impacting the academic achievement, post-secondary preparedness, and personal-social development of all students. The guidance department seeks to understand the expectations and concerns parents have and advise accordingly. Counselors focus on creating a collaborative environment with students, educators, and parents by helping students develop the independence necessary to make positive life choices.
